Junior blitz updates
At junior level Galway Tornadoes ran a hugely successful juniors blitz at the end of October inviting junior teams from all over the country. The Oliver Murphy Sports Centre in Clontarf then played host to the same blitz type event in November. This event will be remembered for the final All Stars game which saw no less than four periods of over time being played; unheard of at any level.
This programme of junior blitz basketball events which will continue in 2012 are proving hugely popular and are important in ensuring that our junior players have 1) competitive opportunities among their peers 2) an opportunity to prepare for senior level and 3) an opportunity to meet other junior players from all over the country. A huge thank you to everyone who was involved in organising both events.
The next junior blitz will be held on Sunday the 12th of February.
