Omni Kinetic (Cable Cross Over)

Description: The Omni Kinetic (Cable Cross Over) is a very popular piece among all members both wheelchair users and able bodied. A full resistance routine can be conducted with this machine either from the wheelchair or from an able bodied position. Upper and lower body routines can be catered for.

Smith Machine

Description: A Smith machine, based on it's construction, can be used for so many different exercises that you will be able to do a full body workout using the machine alone with an adjustable bench.

Chest press

Description: The Chest Press primarily develops the pectoral muscle group. The action involves pushing the handles straight out in front of you and involves shoulder and elbow movement.

Lat Pull Down

Description: The Lat Pulldown is an exercise designed to develop the Latissimus dorsi. It requires movement at two joints (elbow and shoulder). The full range of the motion required by the exercise also works the biceps muscle in the arm and the muscles of the middle back. The pulldown uses a similar motion as the chinup.

Peck Deck

Description: The Peck Deck primarily develops the chest muscles (pectoralis). The action involves pushing two pads with your forearms from a wide position to a central position. The primary movement is in your shoulder joint.

A dual function machine – the Leg Extension and Leg Curl machine

Description: The leg Extension exercise strengthens the quadriceps. (the muscles at the front of the thighs). The Leg Curl exercise strengthens the hamstring. (the muscle at the back of the upper leg)

Seated Lever Row

Description: The seated lever row primarily develops back muscles. Latissimus Dorsi, posterior deltoids, Trapezius, rhomboids and biceps. The action involves pulling the levers towards your body and involves shoulder and elbow movement.

Bench Press

Description: The bench press targets the pectoralis muscle group, (chest). It also develops your front deltoids (shoulders) and triceps. The action involves lifting a bar bell above your chest while lying on a bench and involves shoulder and elbow movement.

Cardio range including, treadmills, bikes and a cross trainer

Description: Cardio machines suitable for a warm up or a cardio work out, all fitted with heart-rate monitors.

Wheelchair compatible: The ergometers are wheelchair accessible, see following description

Notes: Wheelchair users can carry out a warm up / or cardio workout on the ergometer.

The Pro 2 ergometer

The Pro 2 Ergometer offers an upper and lower body cardiovascular workout to users. The seat can be removed to allow wheelchair users use direct from their wheelchair if they choose not to transfer. In addition to the cardio benefits the Pro 2 can also improve mobility of the ankle, knee, hip, wrist, elbow and shoulder joints. A variety of foot pedals also assist users to maintain their coordination.

Concept 2 Rowing machine

Description: Rowing is a complete form of exercise. Rowing's combination of cardiovascular and strength conditioning make it a great addition to any fitness or training program for people of all ages, and with a wide variety of fitness goals.

Wheelchair compatible: No – Users must transfer to a postural support ‘bucket’ seat that is fitted with a strap to ensure complete balance of the upper body.

Free Weights Area

Free weights area

Description: The free weights area complete with dumbells, barbells, a bench and a mirror to ensure correct technique, allows all members to carry out a workout away from machine weights.
